Erhard Hirt – a guitarist and guitar synthesist known for his work in free jazz and improvised music. Active since the 1970s, he has collaborated with artists like Lol Coxhill, Phil Minton, John Butcher, and Derek Bailey. Hirt has performed at major European festivals including Moers, Total Music Meeting, and Musique Action, and is the founder of the influential Guitar Projects series. He has also created multimedia projects and experimental ensembles such as the String Quintet and XPact.
