UMYSŁ BIEDAKA (PL)
UMYSŁ BIEDAKA (2023) is an art collective aiming to popularize conversations about class origins and classism in the context of and through art. We look at how the experience of material deprivation and hindered access to culture translates into one’s later existence in the art world. Together we confront the taboos of life of a person living precariously from one project to another: wandering through different rented apartments, the contrast between the place of origin and the place of artistic activity, living from grant to grant, from exhibition to exhibition, from commission to commission, and the attempt to reconcile paid and creative work….
